Discussion Notes:

1. A Poodle that is friendly, proud and with "good temperament" will indicate this outgoing attitude by his whole demeanour. In particular, correct head and tail carriage are good indicators of temperament, particularly in the show ring when aspects such as temperament are difficult for a judge to assess in a short period of time.

Any sign of shyness, nervousness or viciousness will always be immediately obvious and is directly opposed to the breed standard requirements.

A Poodle will often drop its tail when standing at rest Poodle Temperament which is normal and should not be taken an as indication of poor temperament. If the tail carriage is low when the dog is moving this would indicate either a low tail set (incorrect) or a Poodle that is not "carrying himself proudly" (refer to General Appearance on previous page).
