1. A Poodle with the correct lay of shoulder will have a neck "of good length" (as illustrated in Figure A); (also refer to FOREQUARTERS). |

2. The "strong" neck should not be confused with a short, thick, heavily muscled neck (as illustrated in Figure B); a short neck cannot arch. The strength that is required is such "to admit of the head being carried high". A ewe neck (as illustrated in Figure C) has no strength. 3. The neck blends smoothly into the top of the shoulders and is a very important component of the dignified carriage. |
