1. Only a very slight slope of pastern should be apparent to ensure correct gait. 2. A cat-like foot is incorrect as too is a flat splayed foot (as illustrated in Figure A). |

3. A correctly shaped ribcage will ensure that the forelegs are straight and the feet turn neither in nor out (as illustrated in Figure B). |

4. A correctly shaped foot will be well arched (as illustrated in Figures C & D). An "oval" foot is one such that the two middle toes extend very slightly forward of the toes on either side. |
