BREED STANDARD
FEET
Pasterns strong 1, tight feet proportionately small, oval in shape 2, turning neither in nor out 3, toes arched 4, pads thick and hard, well cushioned.


Discussion Notes:

1. Only a very slight slope of pastern should be apparent to ensure correct gait.

2. A cat-like foot is incorrect as too is a flat splayed foot (as illustrated in Figure A).

3. A correctly shaped ribcage will ensure that the forelegs are straight and the feet turn neither in nor out (as illustrated in Figure B).

4. A correctly shaped foot will be well arched (as illustrated in Figures C & D). An "oval" foot is one such that the two middle toes extend very slightly forward of the toes on either side.
